Different Gods
I like the idea of all the different gods, and how they are real. This kind of goes back to the last Narnia book, where everyone is surprised that the other god everyone was worshiping was in the shed—or came out of the shed. Here, we kind of have the same setup. There are a bunch of different gods in a world similar to our own, and they each are given or choose a people to look over. In turn, those people worship that god. The emphasis here is that they are real, and they can at times interact with the world.
Within that, I also enjoy that the gods themselves aren’t inherently evil or even bad. Apart from the one that has fallen, they mostly seem to respect each other. One of the surprises in the book was when the group encounters what was set up to be a bad or evil god, only to find it having a pleasant conversation with them and then going back to sleep.I like this, and it’s a nice twist on things.
